Kramer Ausenco was engaged by Nippon Koei to detail design and document 9 bridges as part of the OECF funded Trans Island Highway (Bereina to Malalaua Section). All bridges were concrete deck/steel girder composite superstructure and piled substructure. The design was in full compliance with the PNG Bridges codes with seismic provision

- Miaru (3 x 30m spans)
- Makara (2 x 20m spans)
- Sappaharo (2 x 20m spans)
- Kapuri (3 x 21.5m spans)

- Agobino (20m)
- Ungongo (20m)
Design and documentation was completed in 1988 and construction of the bridges was completed in 1997.
