On Saturday 22 September 2012, Papua New Guinea’s Sports Minister, the Hon. Justin Tkatchenko, and other high profile guests were hosted by Kramer Ausenco (PNG) Ltd to a dinner themed ‘A night with Mal Meninga’ in Port Moresby.
The NRL Legend who is Kramer Ausenco’s Ambassador entertained the diners which included PNG LNG Project’s Managing Director, Peter Graham, Barrick’s Country Manager, Dr. Ila Temu, Newcrest’s Government Liaison Manager, Borone Isana, Petromin’s Acting General Manager Minerals Division, Lyndah Brown-Kola, and former Governor of Western Highlands Province, Tom Olga.
Kramer Ausenco’s Chief Executive Officer, Frank Kramer CBE, Chief Operating Officer, Bruce Nicholson, and Government/Public Relations & Business Development Manager, William Natera, were also at the exclusive event at the Bacchus Restaurant at the Airways Hotel, which provided the opportunity for everyone to network in a relaxed and casual environment.
Big Mal’s stories such as his attempted career in Australian politics – one that ended before it started – in 2001, had his audience laughing, and his insight in to rugby league progress in PNG, and the country’s development in general had them thinking.
Mal was in PNG’s capital for the Prime Minister’s XIII match on Sunday 23 September 2012 where the side he coached won 24-18 against the Adrian Lam coached PNG team.
