The Kramer Ausenco Brothers Rugby Football Union Club have presented their B and premier grades 2018 Capital Rugby Union grand final trophies to Kramer Ausenco (KA) Chief Executive Officer, Frank Kramer.
The Brothers premier team is the story of the season, going through all rounds undefeated, and winning the grand final against Harlequins 49-5.
The Brothers management thanked Kramer Ausenco for its loyalty to the club since 2011.
Club Captain Ahulo Ottio who has been a club member since 2007 and saw the re-building of the club after a grand final loss and split in 2010, said, “Thankyou Kramer Ausenco for being a part of us since our rebuilding, and believing in us. On a personal note, most of us started out as singles and will leave as parents with a lot of wonderful memories.”
Club Coach Joe Kautu said, ““Kramer Ausenco has helped us a lot, and it’s good to give back. That season and win was for you.”
Club President George Koi, said the team theme leading into the grand final was faith and patience. “We told the team that if the game plan did not go their way in the first 10mins, not to throw it away, but keep at it, faith and patience.”
Club Vice-President Johnny Passingan said the team will be starting off-season training soon and anticipated another successful showing in the competition next year.
Mr. Kramer said the cups would take pride of place in the company’s corporate office, and looked forward to the Brothers defending their title next season, and more silverware. He thanked the club for being good role models, and developing young people both on and off the field.
KA PNG Country Manager Rovaly Sike, who witnessed the premier grand final said the company was very proud of the team’s performance, and that of the Brothers and Sisters in the other grades too.
Benny Kimisive, KA Senior Mechanical Engineer, a veteran of 15 grand finals-mostly for Consort Brothers-in sister code rugby league in the eighties and Cambridge Cup days, was impressed with the Brothers unbeaten run to their grand final victory, and the leadership and management in the club.
