The Kramer Ausenco Brothers premier grade played hard but could not keep the Gangloff University Piggies from scoring in the dying seconds of the Grand Final.
The Piggies took out the Capital Rugby Union premiership honours with a 24-17 win over the Brothers after the lead changed a few times during the match, and was level 17-17 with 5 minutes on the clock.
The Brothers last lifted the trophy in 1992 and were hoping to repeat the feat last Saturday in front of a sea of club fans, all sporting KA Brothers merchandise, and shouting support.
“We fell agonisingly short this time, but are stronger and better than we were yesterday. We are humbled by KA’s continued support for the club,” Club President George Koi said.
Kramer Ausenco Chief Executive Officer, Frank Kramer, said the company is very pleased with the Brothers’ season and Grand Final performance, and even more proud of the club’s off-field accomplishments and reputation.
