On Friday 22nd August, 2014 the newly constructed Our Telekom Haus Extension located at the corner of Mud Alley and Mendana Avenue at Honiara CBD was officially opened with speeches and unveiling of the plague by Solomon Telekom Company Ltd CEO, Mr. Loyley Ngira and Chairman, Mr. Harry Kuma. Local dignitaries and managers of major business houses also attended the function.
The Our Telekom Haus Extension accommodates two major corporate offices, one being the relocation of the Solomon Telekom, sales and marketing office and the other being the Solomon Telekom, Our Television.
Kramer Ausenco (SI) Ltd, were commissioned by one of their major clients Solomon Telekom Company Ltd to undertake the architectural, interior design, structural design and assessment as well as project management of the project. The project brief included the refurbishment of an existing commercial building which previously housed the old National Bank of Solomon Islands and marrying the proposed façade to the existing adjacent Telekom building hence the façade being an extension of the existing to the proposed. A “modern and local” theme was the main emphasis towards collaborating the interior design which encompassed a functional yet modern and sleek exterior. The nine month construction period involved the hard working team from Fletcher Kwaimani Joint Venture Ltd being the main building contractor working closely under the management and supervision of Kramer Ausenco (SI) Ltd Project Manager, Mr. Maurice Nonipitu.
