Kramer Ausenco staff in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, participated in the annual Sir Anthony Siaguru Walk Against Corruption (SAWAC) on Sunday 8 June 2014. This is the second year KA has put up a Corporate Team of ten to take part in the event.
The Walk is a major fundraising and awareness event hosted by Transparency International Papua New Guinea (TIPNG). TI is a non-profit, non-government organisation dedicated to fighting corruption both internationally and at the national level, and the late Siaguru founded the PNG Chapter of TI.TI PNG hosts this Walk to raise funds for the Siaguru Endowment Fund to ensure the future operations of the organisation; raise greater awareness about corruption among members of civil society; and provide a peaceful avenue for citizens to express their opposition to corruption.
On the day, KA staff in their Walk Against Corruption t-shirts and popular ‘Stopim Korapsen Nau’ (Stop Corruption Now) banner, joined hundreds of other citizens in the bright and lively 4 kilometre walk from Jack Pidik Park down Boroko Drive, Spring Garden Road, Waigani Drive, and Hubert Murray Highway back to the Park.
Kramer Ausenco has strong values and a vision to communicate what behaviour is appropriate and what is not. These values are shared across the organisation, and are not only reflected at events such as the Walk Against Corruption, but in the actions of all employees every day.
