On the 4th of June, Sione Manu affectionately known as Kamu by his friends and work colleagues was 1 of 8 Musicians from Kramer Ausenco and Ausenco to participate in a workshop / practice session with one of the world’s best trumpet players, the great James Morrison. This was part of the lead up to the World’s Biggest Orchestra (WBO) world-record attempt which will be held at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, 13 July. Kamu an avid trumpet player and part-time conductor at his local church will also be participating in the “Largest Trumpet Ensemble” which is another world record attempt on the same day at King George Square also lead by James Morrison.
Kamu proudly spoke about his practise session with James Morrison; “It’s a trumpet player’s dream to play with someone like James Morrison so it was a special session to all musicians who participated. We practised the piece that we will be playing on the day and he then gave us musical tips and advice on how we can improve”.
“I’m looking forward for the 13th July to be part of this world record attempt. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for all amateur musicians to play together in an orchestra with world renowned musicians.”
