Kramer Ausenco Solomon Islands entered as a team for the Australian High Commission Fun Run Day held on Saturday 23rd November 2013. All staff were encouraged to bring along their families to attend this event.
The High Commission organized this occasion to encourage people to be health conscious. Hence the theme was Iu Mi Stap Helti (Lets All live Healthier, Healthy) as lifestyle diseases are fast growing to be a major issue in the Solomon Islands.
Participants, who registered, free of charge, for this Fun Run received a G’Day Solomon Islands Fun Run t-shirt and were treated to a warm up session organized by the Fun Run Committee in order to prevent injuries during the run. After the run, all participants were served a healthy free breakfast consisting of a local selection of fruits (pineapple, watermelon, banana and pawpaw) and Muesli bars. There were also other free giveaways including water and gift packs. The fun day ended with the drawing of some great raffle prizes that were drawn from all the participants’ names being put in a big cane basket.
As Kramer Ausenco HSEC encourages staff to be conscious of their health and well-being, management was very supportive of this initiative and was very pleased to see most of the staff and their children take part in this event.
